The PetMassage™ WaterWork
This is a very specialized class that helps students develop PetMassage skills working in water with dogs.
PetMassage™ WaterWork is growing in popularity. If you have access to a swimming pool, you can practice PetMassage™ WaterWork.
In the new field of canine rehabilitation (University of Tennessee, Canine Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy, Millis, Levine, and Taylor), two procedures are prominent in practically every program: massage and swimming. PetMassage WaterWorkTM can be included with, and can enhance, many veterinary post-surgical and non-surgical rehabilitation regimens.
Imagine the dynamics, flexibility, and therapeutic value that dogs can get moving in a warm water, non-weight bearing, environment. Imagine holding and supporting a dog, suspended in water; guiding the body in your arms in large, sweeping movements across the surface of the water. Feel how the water drags and drifts the myofascial tissue and articular connections. Your secure presence, based on the training and skills you've learned, resolves fears and apprehensions the dog exhibited when first entering the water. In your hands, the dog relaxes, allowing integumentary and musculoskeletal structures to float into and away from each other. Restrictions from holding patterns release. Alternative neuromuscular systems engage. Your dog experiences his body WaterWorking: joyful, relaxing, rejuvenating, rebalancing, reconditioning, resoundingly and amazingly therapeutic and beneficial.
PetMassage™ WaterWork is a complete course in itself. Part of the class is in the classroom, learning specific PetMassage™ body mechanics and movement as applied in a water environment, basic anatomy and the interactive dynamics of bodies in water. The rest of the class is in the indoor heated pool, where PetMassage™ WaterWork techniques are learned and practiced.
PetMassage™ WaterWork uses a unique set of techniques and body mechanics that are just one small part of the "dry" PetMassage™ skill set. For this reason, we have dropped the prerequisite requirements for completing previous PetMassage™ workshops. This workshop is now open to people who have had considerable, minimal, or no experience in canine massage.
The course fee for this 5-day course is $1500.00 and the NCBTMB CE value is 100 and 100 contact hours through the IAAMB/ACWT.

NOTE: Prerequisites for the WaterWork Class have been dropped. We no longer require completions of the PetMassage™ Foundation and Advanced PetMassage™ for Dogs workshops.
This workshop is now open to people who have had minimal or no experience in canine massage.
Policies:
- WaterWork Workshop will have a maximum of 12 students per class.
- If there are less than 4 students enrolled, the PetMassage™ School will not hold the workshop. If you have paid your deposit for a workshop, it will be applied to another workshop that is convenient to your schedule. We will contact you two weeks prior to your workshop to confirm that your class will be held.
- If, for any reason, you need to reschedule your participation in the hands-on portion of the workshop, you may enroll for another workshop with no penalty.
- If you need to cancel your participation in this workshop, your deposit, the monies you have paid will not be refunded. Your deposit may be applied to the cost of distance learning modules, PetMassage™ products and other workshops.
