Some PetMassage Definitions

Definitions:

Divot is an indentation or little valley. In PetMassageā„¢, it refers to folds in the tissues at joints and where muscles lie together such as the hollow in the middle of the deltoid muscle or on the side of the thigh. A divot can appear and disappear as a dog changes position and the muscles change positions. I use the lights and shadows on a dog’s coat to see his posture patterns. Darker shadows may indicate an area that is being held deeper, protected by the rest of the body. When my awareness is drawn to an area, my healing intention – energy – is activated.

Follow on is a term that I created. It is movement initiated by the PetMassageā„¢ practitioner that continues the tiny movements – the winding or unwinding – that we feel within the tissues during positional release.
